The TMC Offshore Team has experience in all disciplines necessary to support the offshore oil, gas and renewable energy industry.

With offices in the UK and Singapore we are ideally located to cover operations in the North Sea and European areas as well as the Asian Pacific rim, while remaining ready to immediately mobilize to all other areas.

Colin Barker – Technical Director. Naval Architect & Master Mariner

Colin is a naval architect who has also served at sea and has a master mariners certificate.  Following a period with Lloyd’s Register, Colin worked as a marine warranty surveyor with Noble Denton and as an engineering manager with heavy lift contractor Saipem, specialising in offshore installation, heavy lifting and transportation of jackets, modules and sub-sea structures.

Peter Nicholson – Master Mariner

Peter served as Master and Chief Officer on offshore (DP) vessels engaged in:  diving (sat & air), anchor handling, drilling & core sampling, pipe-lay barge support, survey, offshore construction and structure removal. FPSO mooring, installation and riser hook-ups. Offshore export tanker operations. Semi-sub, jack-up and barge moves. Peter has also acted as Client Rep’ overseeing rig moves in the North Sea and carried out surveys/audits for offshore clients.

Sean Song – Naval Architect

Sean joined TMC with a diverse offshore experience which includes platforms modifications, loadouts, offshore installation, float overs, pipe and umbilical lay, loadout and installation of wind turbines, sea trials and experiment,  jack-up and semi-submersible inspections, heavy lifting and transportation, subsea installation, FPSO surveys, sea-fastening, etc. Sean also engaged in a wide variety of engineering, marine warranty surveying and offshore consultancy for the marine and offshore industries.

Mike Vanstone – Master Mariner

Mike has been a Senior Offshore Marine Surveyor and a marine warranty surveyor.  He has also been a Senior Marine Superintendent with a major offshore UK shipping company, as well as Marine Technical adviser for a leading Middle East energy producer. Before coming ashore, he gained world-wide experience as Master and Chief Officer on DP 3 DSV’S (sat & air), ROV, survey, well service, cable, pipe lay and other offshore vessels.

Adrian Duncan – Marine Engineer

Adrian has experience as Chief and Second Engineer on Dynamic Positioned (DP) PSV and anchor handlers. He also has experience in ship management and ship repair.

Ian Hodges – Master Mariner

Ian has experience on FPSO’s & FSO’s as Cargo & Operations Superintendent, and is experienced in FPSO/Export tanker STS operations. This experience backs-up his considerable oil major tanker knowledge. Ian stood-by for the construction of a purpose built FPSO and the commissioning of the cargo handling systems. 

Dagfinn Bakken – Master Mariner

Dagfinn has been a marine surveyor and rig mover with Noble Denton.  Prior to coming ashore he was Master of construction support vessels involved in a wide range of activities from diving, subsea construction and cable lay. He was also Master of anchor handlers and platform supply vessels.  He has a wide range of experience in many offshore vessel types, mostly fitted with DP Systems.
