Stephen Tierney

Stephen has spent 15 years at sea in a variety of vessel types including: cargo ships, bulk carriers and oil tankers of various types, up to the rank of Chief Officer. On coming ashore Stephen studied for and gained his Extra Master's Certificate. Stephen later joined a Ship Management company working in the Operations Department running a fleet of tankers. 

Since joining TMC 20 years ago, Stephen has been involved with over 200 investigations, many on-site including: collisions, groundings, total losses, oil loss, container losses and damage, as well as numerous unsafe port investigations. Stephen's salvage work has included a number of appointments as an SCR.

Stephen is a regular consultant to Shipowners, Insurers and Lawyer clients advising on current issues.

Stephen has been a Director of TMC since 1995 and became Managing Director in February 2011.
