Allan is responsible for creating mathematical computer models on the SEAMASTER program for the purpose of investigation intact and damage stability. He has extensive experience of such modelling and has constructed over 100 models for a large variety of vessel types. These include: bulk carriers, oil tankers, chemical tankers, LNG/LPG carriers, general cargo, multi-purpose ships, container vessels, passenger cruisers, passenger ferries, passenger Ro-Ro, cargo Ro-Ro, vehicle carriers, fishing vessels and other vessel types (heavy lift, cable layers, tugs, barges etc.).
Using 3D CAD software and associated animation software, Allan also carries out modelling of 3D rendered images and animations of ships, ship parts, collisions, berthing and seabed topography. These are used by TMC to provide visual representations in arbitration and high court cases. Other programs used by Allan and in which he has extensive experience include: Rhinoceros 3D CAD, AutoCad, Seasafe, NAPA, and many other more standard packages.
