• O.N.D. Mechanical Engineering, with endorsments in Naval Architecture and Power Plant Maintenance

During his sea-going career Richard served up to the rank of Chief Engineer on most types of vessels including general cargo, reefers, tankers, bulk carriers and passenger ships.

On coming ashore Richard has worked as a Senior Project Engineer with R. Pollard Associates, Superintendent Engineer with major British shipowner based in Far East, Port Engineer with operator of passenger ferries and Ro-Ro vessels based in U.S.A., Superintendent Engineer for U.K. based International Ship Management Company and as a Marine Surveyor with a London based firm of marine consultants.

As a Director of TMC, Richard has experience in all aspects of Marine Consultancy, including: ship, engine and condition surveys on all types of vessels, casualty and damage investigation resulting from fires, collisions, groundings, explosions, structural failures, pre-purchase surveys, speed and consumption disputes and wreck removal, to list just a small range off the work Richard has undertaken.
